Gregory's Girl (Original title)
Dates: 1980 (Copyright), 12 July 1981 (Release)

Country: United Kingdom

Director: Bill Forsyth

Synopsis: Gregory is a normal 16 year old schoolboy with all the normal schoolboy preoccupations, namely girls and football. However, his continued participation on the football field is threatened when the disastrous performances of the school side force Phil, gym teacher and team coach, to seek drastic remedies and Grgeory's place as a striker is taken by a girl. Dorothy is an extremely attractive blonde with a very female figure and a lethal shot into the bargain. From the time he first sees her at practice, Gregory is hopelessly infatuated. But Gregory can make no real headway and, in desperation, seeks the advice of his worldly-wise kid sister Madeline. His friend Steve urges him to ask Dorothy for a date, so Gregory takes the plunge and, to his amazement, is accepted. Equipped with Steve's dressy white sports jacket, Gregory waits for Dorothy in the New Town Plaza at the appointed hour. But thanks to Carol and particularly Susan, the evening does not quite go according to plans....
